Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220) The Han Dynasty ruled China from 206 BC to AD 220 and is often divided into Western and Eastern Han. The Western Han was a period of consolidation and was noted for establishing the Chinese states and expanding the military. The Eastern Han, on the other hand, ruled briefly until AD 220 when it collapsed due to the weakening and decentralization of power.
