Qin Dynasty (221-207 BC) The Qin Dynasty was established under the rule of Emperor Qin Shihuang, who ruled from 221 to 207 BC. Although Emperor Qin is remembered for his tyranny and cruelty, he is also famous for the establishment of an administrative system that was used in the following 2000 years after the Qin Dyansty. Apart from contributing to the governmental system, Emperor Qin was also recognized for standardizing the Chinese writing system as well as the measuring and weighting systems. Most importantly, through the initiative of Emperor Qin, the Great Wall of China was undertaken extensively and became what is known as one of today's 'Wonder of World'. The Qin Dynasty ended with the rule of Qin Shihuang's heir who was toppled by commoner Liu Bang in 207 BC. Liu Bang then quickly established the Han Dynasty.
