Korean Folk Village

The Korean Folk Village is a living museum that recreates the lifestyle of the Choson Dynasty (1392-1910). There is a district office, a blacksmith's shop, a village school, mansions of the noble, an outdoor marketplace, and many artifacts to be seen. There are also 240 traditional homes reflecting the characteristics of each province. Performances by traditional farmers' bands are held in an outdoor amphitheater. One can also enjoy special reenactments of traditional wedding ceremonies.

P'anmunjom

Located in the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea, the P'anmujom Truce village is where the Korean War Armistice Treaty was signed on July 27, 1953. It has remained as the site for ongoing peace dialogues between the South and the North. Foreigners must carry their passports to visit this area and tours can be arranged only through the Korea Travel Bureau. A military tour guide escorts visitors to the Freedom House for a look at North Korea.

Mt. Odusan Unfication Observatory

The Odusan Unification Observatory, which is located near P'anmunjom, provides an excellent view of North Korea along the Imjin-gang River.
