- Day 01 Arrival – Kuching City Tour
Upon arrival at Kuching International Airport, meet and greet by our friendly representative and proceed for KUCHING CITY TOUR. Kuching, the Capital of Sarawak, is a cosmopolitan city and this is reflected in the faces on the street. Its city centre is well preserved with ornate Chinese Temples, The Astana, City Tower, and many fine examples of colonial-style architecture, a beautiful waterfront and a number of interesting museums such as Cat Museum. Other places of interest include the famous landmark of the city, the New DUN, The Golden Bridge, The Cat Monument, Market, Main Bazaar, China Town, Old State Mosque & etc. After tour, transfer to hotel of your choice for check in and overnight.
- Day 02 : Semenggoh Nature Reserve – Iban Longhouse Overnight (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner )
Breakfast at the hotel, Morning proceed to visit SEMENGGOH WILDLFE CENTRE. traveling overland (30 min) followed by a brief hike through dipterocarp forest. Upon arrival at the centre, you will be able to catch a glimpse of the Orang Utans during their feeding time. Spot their delicate nests watch their skillful movements at the treetops and also their interesting behaviour during feeding time. The guide will narrate to you the behaviour, emotion and characteristics of this special primate called Orang Utan, meaning ‘Man of the Forest’. Continue journey to MENGKAK LONGHOUSE. The expedition will begin with a 4 hours car ride passing through the scenic greenery countryside. The vast land on both side of the road are can be seen dotted with vegetable farms, padi fields, rubber, pepper, oil palm and cocoa plantations which generated some of the top revenue earner crops of Sarawak. Enroute you will have a brief stopover at small native town called Serian. Experience the busy daily wet market and witness some of the rare jungle produce brought by the native from the deep jungle. Lunch break is at ‘Lachau’ – small popular ‘cowboy’ town for Indonesian natives from the nearby Kalimantan border town to do barter trade. You can do your last minutes shopping for the visiting gift to present to your Iban host. Arrive at Batang Ai Hydro Lake. The journey will take you across the lake into the Engkari River, one of the many tributaries flowing into the lake. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes before reaching Mengkak Longhouse nestled on a hill beside the river. The village of 30 to 40 “bilek” or rooms (each of one family) all under one roof built on stilts about a metre above the ground. Meet with its inhabitants and share a moment of their day. Share a glass of tuak (rice wine) and cultural performance with Iban hosts on the Ruai. Dinner & overnight at the longhouse.
- Day 03 Back to Kuching ( Breakfast / Lunch )
After breakfast, you will be invited to watch the demonstration using of the blowpipe which will be held at the open space. That is a chance for you to try on this popular leisure game and polish your skill of using the deadly weapon – ‘blowpipe’. Return trip to Kuching is by longboat and overland. Lunch enroute. Transfer to city hotel of your choice for check in and overnight.
- Day 04 Departure - Kuching Airport ( Breakfast )
Breakfast at the hotel and free at leisure until check out from the hotel and transfer to Kuching International Airport for your departure flight.
