New Zealand is an excellent location for enjoying many outdoor activities. The main centers are in Queenstown, Wanaka, and Waitomo on the North Island. Abseiling Abseiling is available at the marvelous Magapu cave system near Waitomo, where fanatics can abseil down 100 meter (330-ft) vertical faces. Training can be arranged prior to the climb. Queenstown is a favorite location for bungee jumping. Skippers Canyon alone has three bridges, ranging from 43 - 102 meters (140 - 335 ft) in height, from which you can hurl yourself into the void. The sport is also available in Taupo. Cycling Cycle tours are a huge hit among tourists who visit New Zealand. Some tours include a bus to carry your luggage. Mountain bikes are plentiful for rent. Among the best places to cycle are on South Island in areas such as Wanaka, Glenorchy, Queenstown, and Fiordland. Features along the way include abandoned gold-diggers' villages such as Macetown, breathtaking ravines in the Nevis Valley, and the roads leading up to ski resorts, which offer superb lake views.
