Auberge de la Plaine des Jarres

Overlooking the picturesque Phonsavanh town and surrounded by verdant paddy fields and rolling mountains, this cosy hotel is particularly suitable for a tranquil getaway. The high altitude and the real working fireplaces that are often used during the chilly winter months add a characteristic 'alpine' feel to the Auberge.

The collection of 15 wooden bungalows is nestled amongst pine and fern trees. The spacious and airy cabins are appointed with modern amenities and en-suite bathrooms while the fireplaces and chimneys add rustic touches to the simple interiors. The verandahs are inviting spaces to sit and relax over the sweeping mountain sceneries.

Housed in a separate wooden building, the restaurant is decorated with an eclectic blend of war-time memorabilia and traditional Lao textiles. It serves a fine selection of continental and signature Lao dishes, including sticky rice, papaya salad and laap. In the adjoining bar lounge, guests can unwind and bask in the warmth of crackling fires over a glass of vintage wine.
