Welcome to Gyeongju Hotel & Information

Gyeongju Introduction

Gyeongju was the capital of the ancient kingdom of Silla (57 BC - 935 AD) which ruled most of the Korean Peninsula between the 7th and 9th centuries. A vast number of archaeological sites and cultural properties from this period remain in the city.

Gyeongju is often referred to as "the museum without walls". This picturesque city allows tourists to step back in time, experience the beauty of the land and exquisite architecture and view numerous relics from the Unified Silla Kingdom. Some of the most famous sites here include: Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, The National Gyeongju Museum, Daereungwon Royal Burial Grounds, Bunhwangsa Temple, Cheongseongdae Observatory, Hwangnyongsa Temple, Ahnapji Pond, Poseokjeong Watercourse, Namsan Mountain and Bomun Lake Resort.

At the 2002 World Heritage Committee gathering, Gyeongju's relics were recognized among the worlds most treasured (for the preservation of Gyeongju's relics, UNESCO has placed many relics on the international 'Cultural Treasure' list).
