It also showcases many different types of birds, animals and other inhabitants that are found in tropical rainforests, temperate and even sub-Antarctic regions. The overall objective of the Underwater World is to provide entertainment along with knowledge and education to those who are interested in marine life.
EAGLE SQUARE
Located in Kuah Town and next to the jetty, Eagle Square is the place that reflects origin of Langkawi's name. The square is marked by a massive 12-meter sculpture of a reddish brown eagle which is poised to take off. Langkawi's name has been derived from reddish brown eagle, because in old Malay language Helang means Eagle, and Kawi stands for reddish brown.

So if you are visiting Langkawi by ferry, then this is the place where you will most likely disembark.
Kuah is located at the south eastern edge of Langkawi and facing the water area. But there are no beaches here (except for one next to the CHOGM Park, not suitable for swimming though). There are several tourist attractions like the Eagle Square on the water front
GAMAT HEALING FACTORY, LANGKAWI
Gamat is a species of Sea Cucumbers which are marine creatures having leathery skin and a long body. They can be found on the sea floor almost all over the world. In Malay, these sea cucumbers are known as gamat.
