Kyaikhtiyo Introduction

Kyaikhtiyo is home to the famous Golden Rock. Located 160 km from Yangon and rising 1,100 meters above sea level, the golden rock is truly an amazing site. The rock sites at the top of the mountain precariously perched on the edge of the hill, it looks as if at any second the huge rock may comes tumbling down. Like the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon and the Mahamuni Pagoda in Mandalay, Kyaikhtiyo is revered to be one of the most sacred sites in Myanmar.
