The sound of cascading water from the tiled wall, flows directly into our landscaped salt-water pool, surrounded by tall shady trees, creates a nice and relaxing ambience or find yourself taking a quick and inviting dip in the pool to cool off from the heat of the day.

Basaga’s 33 rooms and 1 suite, which offer reasonable rates, are spacious, spic and span clean and tastefully furnished with a host of modern amenities for your comfort.

Located just about 10 minutes’ drive from the Kuching International Airport (KIA) and a mere 7-minute drive away from the City center, it is within walking distance of one of Kuching’s largest shopping mall and some of our local eateries and restaurants. You can also spend your dinner time experiencing a range of delicious foods in our courtyard restaurant overlooking the garden.

How to Get There
Kuching is the main jump-off point for visitors and tourists to the rest of Borneo, being well served by a newly built Kuching International Airport.

International and regional visitors can reach Kuching conveniently via direct flights from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Johore, Pontianak & Jakarta (Indonesia), Macau and several other planned destinations in the near future.

Major air carriers that serve Kuching are Malaysia Airlines, Air Asia, Jetstar, Tiger Airways, Silkair, Batavia, MAS Wings.

On arrival in Kuching, Basaga guests will be picked-up* from the airport on our complimentary airport shuttle service.

Alternative arrangements can be made by taxi service available at the airport Arrivals Terminal. State the destination as Basaga at Chong Lin Park and the taxi drivers should have no problems finding us.

Our limited run of 34 well-equipped rooms and the Basaga Suite ensures that we can pay more attention to our guests' needs.

The poolside is situated up on the main lawns. It is separated from the other common facilities by large, luscious mature trees and pretty garden hedges so you can enjoy a cool dip in the pool and then lay out in hot sun.

Just a few steps away are the Poolside rooms, the Verandah rooms and the Basaga Suite and slightly further down the walkway is the Courtyard Bar and the Restaurant.

For our guests' convenience, we have prepared a small range of services and amenities that would make your travels to Sarawak that much simpler, and your stay with us that much more comfortable.

These Guest Services are our way to tell you that we care for your comfort and value your patronage.

Our hotel management and reception staff will be happy to receive any other reasonable requests which we will try to accommodate as best as we can.

Restaurant

The Bar
Basaga’s bar has been described as.. “an amazing outdoor open- concept bar..” serving a good variety of beverages and cocktails.

The daytime atmosphere is definitely cool and relaxing, and at night it turns into a vibrant social spot with great ambience; the lighting, the breeze, plus the wide and very cool music selection ever present in the background.

Seating is available in the Main Courtyard, the Bar deck and the Mainhouse Terrace areas.

For those who prefer privacy, there are 2 Basaga Private air-conditioned rooms, each furnished with a large dinning table, available through prior reservation at the front desk.

The Restaurant
The Restaurant is also located in the Main Courtyard. The atmosphere is casual with a fine range of foods ranging from delicate finger foods, grills and main dishes.

Choose from a selection of all-time favourites from both Asian and Western cuisines prepared by our in-house chefs.

Diners may choose to have dinner within the Main Courtyard itself, or at the Bar deck, Mainhouse Terrace or in the Basaga Private Rooms.

Barbecue facilities are available by prior arrangement where you can savour succulently grilled seasoned meats, seasonal seafood and grilled vegetables of your choice during the day or under the romantic starry skies at night.

The Restaurant is open for breakfast between 7.00am - 10.00am, for our In-House residence guests only and from 5.00pm till midnight for dining.

In-House guests can order from the bar and restaurant for food and drinks to be sent to their rooms.
