There are pretty to do and see in KK and its surrounding regions, all accessiable by good roads system. Popular destinations such as Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in South East Asia and Malaysia's first World Heritage Site, or Simpang Mengayau, better known as the 'Tip of Borneo', is only about 2 and 2½ hours of leisure driving from the city.
If the sea is more of your liking, just hop-on to a speed boat for a short ride (about 20 minutes) to one of the five fabulous islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park with beautiful sandy beach that are excellent for relaxation and crystal clear water perfect for snorkeling, scuba diving and a varieties of water-sports.
